Preserve Your Vehicle With a Clean Undercarriage

Cleaning the undercarriage of your vehicle is crucial for maintaining its overall health and longevity. Over time, dirt, salt, and debris can accumulate under your car, leading to rust, corrosion, and damage to vital components like the suspension and brake lines. Regular undercarriage detailing helps remove these harmful elements, preventing long-term wear and tear. It also ensures that your vehicle runs smoothly and safely, protecting both its performance and your investment.

How Do I Clean Your Undercarriage?

Cleaning the undercarriage of a car involves the following four key steps

  1. Preparation and Safety: Start by ensuring the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is turned off. If necessary, lift the car with a jack to provide more access to the undercarriage. Always wear protective gloves and eyewear to shield yourself from dirt and debris.

  2. Rinse and Pre-soak: Use a pressure washer or a hose with a high-pressure nozzle to thoroughly rinse the undercarriage. Begin from the front and work your way to the rear, ensuring that you soak all the surfaces to loosen dirt, grime, and road salt.

  3. Apply Degreaser or Cleaner: Spray a degreaser or a specialized undercarriage cleaner onto the affected areas, paying close attention to parts that may have accumulated more grease or oil. Let the cleaner sit for a few minutes to break down any stubborn grime.

  4. Scrub and Rinse Again: Use a stiff brush or a foam cannon attachment for your pressure washer to scrub away remaining dirt and buildup. Once clean, rinse thoroughly to remove any soap or cleaner residue, ensuring all surfaces are free from contaminants.
